my granny used to live there. very very long time ago.

her mother owned the place. with her husband. but he died. at the end of the 30s.

my granmother was the oldest of the kids. when her dad died she already worked in the business. but from then it was no more fun. till she was old.

in her area and time working was crucial. women doing the daily house stuff. and next don't forget the farmer's aspect.

she worked hard, she says, and she never wants to have it back. nostalgy does not even help.

now the place is owned by one of her grandson's. he got it roughly 10 years ago. when my grandma's brother gave it up. he needed somebody to follow it up. so he did it. even so he worked in  a factory.

now the place is very sucessfull. tourists are coming. eating, drinking, staying over night. looking at the animals, enjoying the countryside. he loves to go to his forest, getting wood for the business, taking care of the animals.

he has a wife, plus two children. she used to work with kids. now she is mother and restaurant owner.

his dad and mom are helping out in the business. every day.

sometimes i am working there. but whatever reason it never visited it when i was younger or at least this place does not have any childhood memories.

but i am impressed.

having a business is damn lot of work. you never go home, you never are off work. there is always work. and if not there are people to take care of. or animals. the idea of it is great, having your own place, having a farm with horses and cows and rabbits and tourists.

but the practice is not.
