Photographers are get often in the Center of criticism, just because of there simple being. There nosy news. And photographers have to be nosy to make good pictures. Afterwards nobody minds. In between and before some of them. Depends, tolerance border in both direction. Depending on association, culture and personal background.
This one was not happy. And it was not even my fault. There was terrible light in the club. Almost no light. The only light was above then the couple. So if I wanted to have a good picture or at least sth to see I had to take one of them.

Most of the time I am not personally interested. For pure plvisual work it is all about the image. Then about the people. When it is a purely visual interest. Still I never would treat then the pictures I respectful would not show weared pictures for example.
If it is from journalistic interest than yes. Definitely the content important. And then not. A balance. Difficult to say.
A picture is about a lot. It has to attract, tell sth and stays in your mind. Also it should not damage certain moral and ethical standards.
And your standard, your eye, your mind.
The guy did not understand my standards not in that moment he would maybe seeing the picture, maybe the. Also not. Does he have to?
